Beyond the Black River

Conan the Barbarian works in one of the civilized countries to help in his effort to claim land from the primitive Picts. However, Picts aren't enthusiastic about this idea. Ancient gods and mythical creatures are summoned by pict witches to challenge the invading army, and Conan finds himself fighting for his life among bloodthirsty armies that include saber-toothed tigers, a 40-foot-long poisonous and a demon from another dimension who wants to crush him. The big dog Slasher appears here and stands out so well in a doomed battle to reclaim his strength that Conan openly praises his courage and promises to roll in honor of his seven Picts heads.
