Casanova: Part 19 - Back Again To Paris
by Giacomo Casanova
My stay in Paris and my trip to Strasbourg, where I found Renault. My misfortunes in Munich and my sad visit to Augsburg. A girl from Strasbourg, a female count and I go to Metz before returning to Paris. I returned to Paris with Corticelli, now Countess Lascaris. There were two things in the conversation: I wanted to scare him and make him jealous of me. I was sure that a man with a passion for jealousy would be quite confused, and I hoped that his game would suffer accordingly and that even if I had won fifty louy bets, I should have been so upset that I would lose a hundred lui to his highest game.
