Childe Roland to the Dark Tower Came

"The Boy Roland Came to the Dark Tower" is a poem by the English writer Robert Browning, written in 1855 and first published in the same year in a collection called Men and Women. The poem has influenced many writers, including contemporary horror writer Stephen King's The Dark Tower, a seven-book epic featuring Gunslinger and Roland Deschain.
