Cimmeria
by Robert E. Howard
Cimmeria) is a poem by Robert E. Howard about the fictional land of Cimmeria, created by Howard as part of the Hyborian world and set by his character, Conan the Barbarian. In the poem, the Cimmeria is described as a "land of darkness and deep night", a gloomy place with a dark forest, gloomy silent streams and a lead-clouded sky. According to Howard, the poem was "written in Mission, Texas, February 1932; Memories of the mountainous country above Fredriksburg can be seen in the fog of winter rain."
