Cupid in Africa
by P. C. Wren
A brilliant student, esthetician, intellectual, and shy, Bertram Green eventually decides to be proud of him as his military father and joins the Indian Army's colonial reserve as a second lieutenant at the beginning of the Great War. Feeling like a fish out of water, he travels to India without any training and is expected to take charge of a company of local soldiers. He then travels to East Africa to join the British war forces there and learns what true military service means.
