Dream Psychology
by Sigmund Freud
This classic work is an important reading for any serious psychology student. Freud encompasses the hidden meanings in our dreams, especially repressed sexual desires, the purpose of our conscious and unconscious mind, and the importance of dreams for our well-being. Freud's attitude towards the study of dreams was that of a statistician who did not know what consequences would be imposed on him with the information he had gathered, and who did not have the means to predict, but was fully prepared to accept these inevitable conclusions. This was really a new way in psychology. Dreams are important Dreaming mechanism Why dream masks Analysis of dreams Sex in dreams Desires in dreams Dream function Primary and secondary process - Regression Unconscious and Consciousness - Reality
