Emily Fox-Seton
by Frances Hodgson Burnett
The two novels, first published as The Making of the Marquiones and then as its sequel, The Methods of Lady Walderhurst, were combined with Emily Fox-Seton, the main character of the two works. The story follows thirty-year-old Emily, who lives alone, humbly and happily in a small apartment and with an inadequate income. He's the person everyone trusts, but no one goes out of their way to adapt. However, his net worth changes, and his other half chronicles his adaptation to a new life and the dangers that arise in those who lose the most from his new circumstances.
