These four dialogues legislate the trial and execution of Socrates and provide a dialectical process that shows not only why the Athenians sentenced him to death, but also, more importantly, why Socrates lived and devoted himself to the study of the meaning of life. These works not only offer the best introduction to the path of Platonic philosophy, but also serve as an excellent introduction to philosophy itself.
