Robert Louis Stevenson's tales were published in New York City in 1902 by the longmans publishing house Green. Previously, thirteen tales were published, along with other works. Stevenson had a long-standing fascination with fairy tale as a literary form. In 1888, he returned to his publisher with a collection of fairy tales that he had composed over the years.
