Although this book can be read as a separate story, it is the third in the trilogy, the first two chapters of which are Marie and Child of the Storm. From the mouth of Allan Quatermaine, it tells of the vengeance of the sorcerer Zikali in the royal Zulu house founded by Senzangacona, the nickname "Thing-what-ne-ne-ne-ne-no-born" and Seteveyo, the last representative to reign as our enemy, king, in the war of 1879. Of course, although much has been added for the purpose of romance, the basic truths of the story have been observed with some fidelity.
