The Soviet counterintelligence agency SMERSH plans to carry out a major terrorist act in the field of intelligence. To do this, the British secret service targets an agent of James Bond. Thanks in part to his role in the defeat of Le Schiffre, Mr. Big and Hugo Drax, Bond was listed as an enemy of the Soviet state and a "death warrant" was issued for him. Her death is planned to cause a major sex scandal that will be published in the world press for months and shatter her reputation and service. The Bond killer will be the executioner of SMERSH Red Grant, a psychopath whose murderous impulses coincide with the full moon. Kronsteen, SMERSH's chess-playing general planner, and Colonel Rosa Klebb, head of operations and executions, are developing the operation. They convince Corporal Tatyana Romanova, an attractive young coder, to mistakenly refuse her position in Istanbul, claiming that she fell in love with Bond after seeing her photo.
