Helen of Troy
by Andrew Lang
In Greek mythology, Helen, better known as Helen of Sparta or Helen of Troy, was the wife of the Spartan king Menelaus and the daughter of Zeus and Leda, sister of Castor, Polydevcus, and Clytemnestra. His kidnapping by Paris led to the Trojan War. Ellen was described as having a face that launched a thousand ships. Helen or Helen probably comes from a Greek word meaning "torch" or "corporsan," or it may be associated with "selenium," meaning "moon." (source: Wikipedia)
