Jude the Obscure
by Thomas Hardy
It is often considered the best work of Thomas Hardy, not only for the complex structure of the plot, where small and fine details lead to the destruction of the character, but also in different themes from how human loneliness and sensuality can prevent a person from trying to realize his dreams; Dreams will not come true if before, freed from the trap of marriage, a person has a lower status; that the educated classes often resemble sophists more than intellectuals; how to live an immoral life full of honesty and passion will be condemned as scandalous in a conservative society; and because religion is nothing more than a false feeling that the trage-bearing tragedies are the result of him sinning against a higher being.
