King John
by William Shakespeare
Britain is forced to go to war when the French challenge the legitimacy of Jones' claims to the throne and are determined to replace their nephew, Arthur. Hypocritically flamboyant political principles are soon forgotten, because the French and English kings form an alliance based on cynically won interests. And since the desire to cling to power in England dominates the paranoid and weak-willed king, his country is in danger of disaster.
