Kipps
by H. G. Wells
Artie Kipps, who was orphaned at an early age, raised by his aunt and uncle, and apprenticed for seven years in front of a draper, is stunned to learn that he is the grandson of a rich gentleman and heir to his fortune after reading a newspaper advertisement. Dramatically thrown into the upper classes, he desperately tries to learn the etiquette and rules of polite society. However, as he soon discovers, becoming a true gentleman is not as easy and desirable as it may seem at first.
