Knights of the Range
by Zane Grey
In the red sky above Don Carlos' farm, the sun rustled in the pastures just outside the trail, the warm breeze of Santa Fe. The colonel sat on his porch, looked at the whole scene, thinking that the precious cattle farm would seemingly doom. "Another spell with my heart, like this last one, is going to kill me," he said nervously to Britt in his right hand. Fearing that he would break her, the Colonel retained his position from his estranged daughter Holly, who was sent to a boarding school in the East when he was eight years old. The colonel would accept nothing but the best training for his daughter. Not to mention that the West, crawling with robbers, thieves, and greed, has no place for a naïve, young woman. However, after the death of Colonel Holly, he is forced to return and take the reins of his father's beloved cattle empire. In the midst of hordes of robbers robbing the farm and antagonizing its supplies, the heir must explore the ways of the West with Captain Britt, who is trying to save what remains of his father's dream.
