Little House in the Big Woods
by Laura Ingalls Wilder
Wolves, panthers and bears roamed the deep forest of Wisconsin. However, Laura Ingalls' father preferred to live miles away from his closest neighbors. So she built a tight cabin for Pa, Ma, Laura, Mary and Baby Carrie. He hunted, trapped and engaged in agriculture. Ma made her own cheese and candy. The wind howled alone all night, but Pa played the violin and kept the family safe and comfortable by singing.
