Little Town on the Prairie

The young town of De Smeth survived the long and harsh winter of 1880-1881. With the arrival of spring comes invitations to social parties, parties and "_literaries".--Laura, now fifteen years old, joins her first evening of society. In her spare time, she sews shirts to help earn money to send Mary to college for the blind. Laura also earns a teacher certification and can work at the school. And most of all, Almanzo Wilder asks permission to walk home from the church. Living in a small town is absolutely exciting!
