Mr. Justice Raffles

Arthur Raffles is a distinguished member of London's society and a national sporting hero. As a cricketer, he regularly represents England in test matches. He uses this as a chance to commit a series of thefts, primarily by stealing precious jewellery from their owners. His friend, the younger, idealistic Bunny Manders, helps him with this. Both men are constantly under the supervision of Inspector Mackenzie from Scotland Yard and have always been thwarted in attempts to correct the offences in the pranks.
