No Highway
by Nevil Shute
Theodore Honey is a shy, inconspicuous engineer whose eccentric interests frown in aviation circles. When a passenger plane crashes in Newfoundland under unexplained circumstances, Honey is determined to prove his unusual theory of what went wrong with them before more lives were lost. But during a flight to the crash site to investigate, Honey is horrified that he is on one of the faulty planes and that he and his companions, including a friendly young flight attendant and an aging film actor, are in imminent danger.
