Nyarlathotep
by H. P. Lovecraft
Horror legend G.P. Lovecraft presents the short prose Nyarlathotep. Lovecraft wrote in 1921: "Nyarlathotep is a nightmare, a real fantasy from my subconscious, the first paragraph was written when I was not yet fully awake." In these five stories, the author captures the visionary state, cosmogony, and special topography of the dream. They are little masterpieces of anxiety. A tall, dark-skinned man resembling an ancient Egyptian pharaoh travels the world, gathering legions of followers with the help of displays of strange and seemingly magical tools.
