On the Banks of Plum Creek
by Laura Ingalls Wilder
The adventures of Laura Ingalls and her family continue as they leave the meadows and travel in their enclosed van to Walnut Grove, Minnesota. Here they settle in a new lawn house on the shores of Plum Creek. Soon Pa builds a gorgeous new home with real glass windows and folding doors. Laura and her sister Mary go to school, help with the housework, and fish in the creek. At night, everyone listens to the cheerful music of Pa's violin. The misfortunes come in the form of locust plague and a terrible blizzard, but the pioneer family works hard together to overcome these trials.
