The terrible darkness has swallowed the sky, and a fiery flood has swallowed the mountain on the horizon! The ship shook again. Flying creatures ran back and forth through the treetops. Miles of insensitive violence reigned. Clouds of dust and smoke rushed into the air for miles, half mountains of white warm glowed, and the sound of prolonged thunder was heard as the earth swayed and trembled... The fugitive shook as sapceft's rockets rose. Soaring for a moment, he soared into the sky. The ship disappeared into the void. Jed Cochrane looked helplessly at where he was standing. The women suddenly took their breath away. He realized the situation he and Cochrane were in. Trembling, he brought himself closer to him as a distant trace of the blackened smoke spreading through the middle of the sky. They were alone among the stars!
