Plain Murder
by C. S. Forester
A murder is planned at the London-based Universal Advertising Agency on the Strand. It was found that the three men were bribed and faced the ruthless prospect of the tail of fate as long as they could not get rid of the person who caught them. Their leader, the thick and ruthless Mr. Morris, soon discovers that killing is much easier than he thought, and that he even has a talent for it. According to him, it can be superhuman. But, as he discovered, there is no such thing as a perfect crime, and no act goes unpunished. Taking us back to 1930s London with gloomy corners and cranberries, smoky cafes and battered rooms, Forester's second crime novel is a bright atmospheric and gripping depiction of the killer's dark heart.
