It all starts next year in California. The computer industry's misfit billionaire and somewhat crazy president of the U.S. is initiating a radical transformation of the world through smart nanotechnology; a kind of equivalent of biological artificial intelligence. They succeed at first, but their plans overthrow Chu, an autistic child. Next time to stop them is not so easy. Much of the story takes place after an incredible transformation where everything looks the same, but in a world where all people are different (for starters, they can read each other's minds). It is possible to travel back and forth to other nearby worlds in the quantum universe, so now our world is being visited by giant hominids from another quantum universe, and some of them mean to streamline the mess we make. Or maybe just run something. For more information, visit Rudy Rucker's website.
