Psmith in the City

by P. G. Wodehouse

Psmith in the City first appeared as a series in The Captain magazine under the title The New Fold from October 1908 to March 1909. He continues the adventures of cricket-loving Mike Jackson and his impeccably dressed friend Psmit, who meets Mike for the first time. Mike Jackson, a cricketer and the son of a cricket clan, finds his dreams of studying and playing in Cambridge upset by the news of his father's financial troubles and must instead find a job at The New Asian Bank. When they get there, Mike finds his friend Psmit as a new employee as well, and together they try to get their position as good as possible, and perhaps get stuck in a little cricket from time to time.
