Quo Vadis
by Henryk Sienkiewicz
Quo Vadis is the love story of Marcus Vinicius, a passionate young Roman tribune, and Ligia Callina, a beautiful and sensitive Christian virgin of royal Ligian descent who was a hostage of Rome, raised in a patrician house. Initially, the typical aristocratic Roman libertist of his time, Marcus, has no concept of love and makes wishes only for Ligia, which has an erotic animal density. The elegant activates the course of events that result in his own spiritual salvation by dragging him into the forced removal from his adopted home due to Petronius' political intrigues and the decadent and terrible splendor of Caesar's trial. Intricately researched, featuring vivid historical figures, remarkable details of the period, a bloody spectacle and sincere beauty, the film is an epic tapestry of the triumph of love, faith and sacrifice.
