Redgauntlet

Set in 1765 during a fictional third Jacobite rebellion, Redhountlet follows Darcy Latimer, a law student involved in a conspiracy to put Prince Charles Edward (aka Bonnie Prince Charlie) on the British throne. He is kidnapped by his uncle Redhountlet, and Redhountlet joins the final fictional attempt to return the Stuarts to the English throne. The events in Redgauntlet never actually happened, but are probably the culmination of Scott's Jacobite novel series.
