When David Innes and Abner Perry went to search the mineral deposits on the recently invented Perry Mechanical Street, they never imagined exploring the beautiful, terrifying world of Pelucidar five hundred miles below their feet. David and his companion Diana the Beautiful set out to teach Pellucidar the ways of civilization and manage to collect a series of primitive kingdoms in the Pellucidar Empire.
