Sirius
by Olaf Stapledon
Sirius is a wonderful experiment by Thomas Trelawnay - a large, beautiful dog with a human brain and intelligence. Sirius, who grew up and trained in Trelawne's own family with his youngest daughter Plaxie, is a truly wonderful and talented creature. His relationship with Trelawnes, especially plaxie, is deep and close, and his curious mind encompasses the spectrum of human knowledge and experience. But Sirius is not human, and the conflicts and internal turmoil that torment him cannot be resolved.
