Tarzan and the Forbidden City
by Edgar Rice Burroughs
Tarzan didn't care much about the fate of adventurer Brian Gregory, who was lured to the legendary city of Usher by the rumor of the Father of Diamonds, a great pearl in the world. But for the monkey-man, the bond of friendship was unshakable, and Paul d'Arnaud's pleas led him to agree to lead an expedition organized by Gregory's father and sister to save him. The enigmatic Athan Tome was also obsessed with The Father of Diamonds and placed agents on Gregory's safari to spy on his route and sabotage his efforts. Both sides achieved the distant Asher goal.... as prisoners of their priests who are condemned to die in rituals.
