The Color Out Of Space

Set in the fictional town of Arkham, Massachusetts, the film, an unnamed narrator explores an area known as the "blown hearth." Unable to extract any information from the natives of Arkham, the narrator encounters her ex-husband, Ammi Pierce, who tells the story of a farmer who once lived there. He claims that the quarry originated from a meteorite that fell on a farmer's field in 1882. "Color Beyond Space" is one of H.P. Lovecraft's most beloved and critically acclaimed stories. According to the author, he was also his personal favorite. It has been adapted into a film twice; first in 1967 and then in 1987.
