The Darling

"Beloved" is a short story by the Russian writer Anton Chekhov, first published in London in 1899, and tells about the life of a woman who was called a favorite. Olenka Plemyannikova, the daughter of a retired university evaluator, falls in love with the owner of the Kukin Theater. Olenka's father dies and marries Kukin, the two live a happy married life ... until Kukin went to Moscow and died.
