The Fair Jilt
by Aphra Behn
It is the story of a fascinating, brave and determined lady who even reflects murder to achieve her love. However, everything is in vain, and his love eventually turns into aggressive hatred. These orders are taken over by the best Persons of the City, the young Servants of Fortune, not in the clauses, but in the Palaces, which shall house about one and a half thousand of these Philae-Devotees, in the Palaces, where they have a Government arranged under some kind of abbot or Pripha; or rather, the governess. They owe it to the method of devotion and are under some obedience.
