When Robin Gaunt, the inventor of the terrifyingly powerful chemical warfare weapon, goes missing, the police suspect he has been "sold" to the other side. But Drummond the bulldog is convinced of his innocence and can only think of a person as cruel enough to use a gun to hold the world for ransom. Drummond is invited to a glorious dinner dance to mark the beginning of his final battle for victory on the airship.
