The Girl from Hollywood
by Edgar Rice Burroughs
At the foot of the mountains of Southern California are the Rancho del Ganado, owned by Colonel Pennington, and the smaller farm where Mrs. Evan lives with her daughter Grace and son Guy. Grace feels she has a dramatic talent and is determined to bet on the fame of her movement actress. Guy became a figure in the plans of Slick Allen, who sold stolen whiskey. Another neighbor is Mrs. Burke, whose daughter, known in Hollywood as Gaza de Loure, has developed a morphine habit.
