The Graveyard Rats
by Henry Kuttner
One of Salem's oldest and oldest cemeteries was given to the responsibility of Elder Masson, but he didn't care — he was adequately compensated for the treasures that were recently left from the depths of his heart. Unfortunately, he always seemed to have to work harder to gain a foothold on to himself, because he had an unusual opponent: rats! Those who screamed as big as cats often pulled entire bodies out of coffins and took them to a dark, ominous place — where they said ghouls and evil creatures lived worse than mice. But Old Masson was not worried at all; after all, it was just a rumor ... and after all, they were just rats. Were they?
