Philip Marlowe's client wants a woman to find a rare gold coin called Brasher Doubloon, whose dried shell is missing from her late husband's collection. Light. It's probably very simple. Unfortunately, every time Aublon appears, so does murder. This was unfortunate for a private investigator, because leaving a corpse trail around Los Angeles, the police removed noses from the joint. If Marlowe doesn't wrap it up quickly, she'll go to jail — or worse, in a box on the floor.
