The House Of Arden
by Edith Nesbit
Arden's famous family treasure has been missing for generations, and the last members of the Arden lineage, Edred, Elfrida, and their aunt Edith, have nothing to do with their names except for the destroyed castle in which they lived. Shortly before his tenth birthday, Edred inherits the title of Lord Arden; He also learns that the lost wealth will only be found if he finds it before he turns ten. With no time to lose, Edred and Elfrida are helped by a charming talking creature, the temperamental Moldivarp, which leads them through the ages on a treasure hunt. Together, brother and sister visit some of the most exciting periods in history and test their minds against real witches, robbers and renegades. They find many adventures, but will they find the treasure for Edred's birthday?
