The Idiot

Twenty-six-year-old Prince Myshkin, after spending several years in a Swiss sanatorium, returns to Russia to collect a legacy and be among the people. Even before arriving home, he meets the dark Rogozhin, the son of a wealthy merchant whose obsession with the beautiful Nastasya Filippovna eventually leads them all three to a tragic conclusion. In St. Petersburg, the prince turns out to be a stranger in a society obsessed with money, power and manipulation. The scandal turns into a murder as it traces the incredible influence of this positive beautiful person on the people around him, which leads to the final scene, one of the most powerful in all world literature.
