The Inspector General

While it may read to today's audience as a comic comedy comedy, "The Inspector General" is actually much more than that. The famous Russian writer Nikolai Gogol suggested that the incompetence, corruption and greed that was an example of Russian bureaucracy in the nineteenth century was a veiled but elevated satire. The witty game was later used as the basis for a film version starring Danny Kay.
