The Iron Star

Swain, one of the members of the African expedition, goes crazy and tries to destroy a strange species of African monkey. An intelligent monkey named Kaptan befriends the other members of the expedition. The expedition discovered that apes were actually humans that evolved in the opposite direction due to exposure to meteorites, and that the Captain was once human.
