The Metamorphosis
by Franz Kafka
In his most famous story, Kafka explores the concepts of alienation and human loneliness through an extraordinary narrative technique and depth of imagination. One morning, Gregor Samsa wakes up to turn into a repulsive insect. His mind, stuck in this form, remains unchanged until he sees the shock reaction of others. Man begins to question the basis of his love, and indeed the entire purpose of his existence. But this seems to be only the beginning of his trials.
