The Most Dangerous Game
by Richard Connell
In "The Most Dangerous Game", the main character depicts a great game hunter from New York who has a shipwreck on an isolated island in the Caribbean and is hunted by a Russian aristocrat. The story is a reversal of the big game hunting safaris in Africa and South America that were in vogue among wealthy Americans in the 1920s. Connells is a tense story about a skilled hunter who becomes the prey of a dangerously unscrupulous person and uses his most powerful weapon, his brain, to brilliantly defeat his pursuer.
