"Coat" - a story of the writer Nikolai Gogol, published in 1842. The story and its author had a great influence on Russian literature, thus leading to the famous quote of Fyodor Dostoevsky: "We all come out of the "Coat" of Gogol. The story has been adapted into various scene and film interpretations The story focuses on the life and death of Akakai Akakievich Bashmachkin, a poor government official and writer in the Russian capital St. Petersburg. Akakiyi has devoted himself to his work as a titled consultant, especially enjoying the manual copying of documents, but is little known for his hard work in his department. Instead, young officers mock him and try to distract him as much as they can. His coat is often an example of his jokes. Akaki decides that the coat needs to be repaired, so he takes it to his tailor Petrovich, who declares the coat irreparable and tells Akaki that he should buy a new jacket...
