The Prussian Officer
by D. H. Lawrence
A Prussian officer tells a story about the captain and his order. The captain, who spent his youth gambling, had only a military career and, although he received mistresses throughout his life, was left alone. The young regularist has sex with a young woman, and the captain, feeling sexual tension towards the young man, enters into his evenings, preventing the order from entering into an affair. These evenings cause the captain to abuse his order and leave large painful bruises on his hips, making it difficult for the regular to walk. What follows is both unforgettable and tragic.
