The Six of Calais

by George Bernard Shaw

"Six Calais" is an acting work and nothing more. As it were, it worked so well that in the eighteenth century all conversations would be about Siddons as Philippe. But the company did not express gratitude except for the audience: the critics prostrated themselves in shock, damn it! If the robber was at least a baron, I had to greatly improve the story told by that ridiculous old snobbish Froissart, who believed that "robbery and pilling is a good life." In my opinion, he did something very bad in this task.
