The Slithering Shadow (also known as Twilight Xuthal) is one of the original short stories starring fictional sword and wizardry hero Conan Cimmerian , one of the original short stories written by American author Robert E. Howard and first published in Weird Tales magazine. The action takes place during the so-called historical Hyborian period and involves Conan, who finds a lost city in a remote desert and encounters a Lovecraft demon known as Tog inside.
