The Tale of Mr. Tod
by Beatrix Potter
The story follows a badger named Tommy Brock and his neighbor, Mr. Tod, as a fox. Brock kidnaps Benjamin Bunny and his wife Flopsey's children and hides them in a stove at Mr. Tod's house. When a fox finds a badger sleeping in its bed, they come to their fists and Benjamin and Peter Rabbit take the time to rescue the rabbits. The tale was influenced by the stories of Uncle Remus and appeared on the edges of Potter Castle Farm. The tale is critically considered one of Potter's "most complex and successful in plot and tone."
