The Tale of Samuel Whiskers

Little Tom Kitten escapes from his mother up the chimney, through a crack in the wall under the floor of the attic. Here he meets Mr. Samuel Mustache and his wife Anna Maria, two rats who catch him with the intention of eating at the pudding. Tom's siblings understand the plan and, with the help of his mother and John Joiner, a carpenter, free Tom and scare off several rats. It is illustrated by beautiful Potter watercolors.
